Hey Gymcat Fans!
Our first home meet is this Friday, January 26th, at in McKaleCenter. We are all so excited to compete in front of our home crowd and show you all what we are really made of! We will be competing against the Oregon State Beavers in a Pac-10 dual meet. Home meets are the best because we are familiar with the equipment, the entire team is on the floor and we have our fans there supporting us. So be sure not to miss it!
We just returned home from Los Angeles, where we competed against UCLA. The meet took place in Pauley Pavilion this past Sunday. We traveled with one less teammate, Alexis who ruptured her Achilles tendon last week during practice. Alexis’ absence meant a change in some of the lineups.
Our team had some great performances but, as a whole just couldn’t pull it together. We weren’t happy with all of our routines, but the meet has given us all something to work on. This week we are going to be focusing on pressure situations, sticking every dismount, hitting handstands and all the other small details that are so important, like knees and toes. We are a strong team, full of potential and we absolutely refuse to let one meet defeat us. We are ready to get back in the game and compete with a vengeance!
Be sure to come out this Friday for our home opener at McKaleCenter beginning at Fans always give us that little extra boost of adrenalin and that makes us compete much better, so don’t miss out!
