TUCSON, Ariz. -

Three Arizona divers qualified for the AT&T National Diving Championships taking place Aug. 9-14 in Los Angeles on the UCLA campus.

Arizona sophomore Samantha Pickens (1 meter and 3 meter) and  seniors Ben Grado (1 meter, 3 meter and platform) and Andres Guerra (platform) will compete in the event.

Pickens and Grado won their events at the prequalification event which was held at Hillenbrand Aquatic Center, July 15-17. Pickens prequalified on the 1 meter by virtue of her top 8 finish last summer and Grado was already qualified on the 3 meter.

In addition, Grado already qualified (by virtue of being 6th on the 3 meter at the Indoor ATT nationals) to the USA Diving Olympic Trials next June in Seattle, WA and hopes to become qualified on the platform for Olympic Trials (he has to finish in the top 12 this summer or next winter).

Pickens is looking to qualify for Trials on the 3 meter by placing in the top-12 next week on the 3 meter.

All the divers will compete for 10 national titles and a chance to qualify for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. The top-six teams in the synchronized events and the top-12 finishers in the individual 3-meter and 10-meter will qualify. In addition, the nationals will be used to select the U.S. roster for the upcoming Pan American Games.

NBC Sports and Universal Sports will televise the Aug. 13-14 finals live. The broadcast begins with one hour of live coverage of the women's platform final on NBC at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 13, followed by an additional two hours of live coverage of the men's 3-meter final and women's synchronized 3-meter final on Universal Sports from 3:30-5:30 p.m. ET. On Sunday, coverage will feature the men's platform final on NBC from 3-4 p.m. ET, followed by Universal Sports coverage of the women's 3-meter and men's synchronized 3-meter final from 4:30-6:30 p.m. ET.
