Arizona Women's Tennis Player Earns Upset Victory at Pac-10 Championship

Seattle, WA. - Wildcat freshman Maja Mlakar topped third-seeded Megan Bradley of UCLA in the first round, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4. Mlakar moved into Saturday's semifinals by defeating California's Racquel Kops-Jones in the quarterfinals, 7-6, 2-6, 7-5.

UA's Dianne Hollands also advanced to the quarterfinal round at the Pac-10 Indoor Championships Friday. Hollands earned a victory by walkout over Stanford's Story Tweedie-Yates in the first round.

Arizona sophomore Debbie Larocque was edged in the first round by top-seeded Sara Walker of UCLA, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. UA sophomore Perrine Pernin was still playing her first round match when the results were released.

The Wildcats continue action Saturday at the Pac-10 Indoor Championships.
