STOCKTON, Calif. - The University of Arizona women's soccer team lost in a 2-1 defeat against the Pacific Tigers at Knoles Field in Stockton, Calif.
Arizona (5-4-1) and Pacific (3-6) held each other scoreless for the first 45 minutes of play until the 49th minute when Pacific player, Sasha Moscatello, scored her first goal of the season for the tigers. Wildcat junior Jazmin Ponce then scored her sixth goal of the season off a chip shot over the goalkeeper's head to tie up the match.
Tied 1-1 with 47 seconds remaining in the match, Pacific player Zarette Munoz-Aguilar earned her first goal of the season on a game winning shot for the Tigers from 25 yards out.
In the net, Arizona goalkeeper Gabby Kaufman recorded four saves for the Wildcats while Pacific goalkeeper, Kathrine Larsen, registered seven saves.
Up next the Wildcats return home to continue Pac-12 play against UCLA on Friday, Sept. 28 at 7:00 p.m. and USC on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1:30 p.m. Both games will be played at Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium.
