TUCSON, Ariz. (AP)-- No. 24 Arizona went to its power game in the second half, with Shawntinice Polk and Krista Warren both responding with 22 and 16 points, respectively, in a 68-51 victory over California at home on Saturday.

The victory guaranteed the Wildcats at least a tie for second place in the Pac-10 standings with a 20-7 overall mark, 13-5 record in league play. California dropped to 9-18, 5-13.

The win was also Arizona's 13th straight at home this season, and its 16th consecutive win over California, dating back to a 94-66 loss on Feb. 1, 1995.

Arizona led only 39-37 after Kiki Williams scored to trim the Wildcats' lead with 15:41 remaining. Cal wouldn't score another field goal for eight more minutes.

The Wildcats went on a 21-3 run, which included 16 straight points.

Polk and Warren dominated the paint, but Dee-Dee Wheeler also added 11 points for Arizona. Cal was led by the 11 points from Leigh Gregory.

Polk not only led the Wildcats in scoring, but her seven boards gave her the school's record for rebounds in a season with 291. She also set a freshman record in points with 482, and her nine blocked shots in the game is a new school record as well.

After Cal connected on a pair of free throws to narrow Arizona's edge to 42-39 the Wildcats didn't look to score anywhere but within the lane.

Warren made a pair of free throws before Polk converted a three-point play, made a lay-in and then a lay-up on a back-door lob. Warren's offensive put-back with 8:44 left put Arizona ahead, 58-39.

Cal's cold streak from the field ended when Jacqueline Sanchez made a lay-in with 7:39 remaining. It was too late by then for a Bears team that has lost six of its last seven games.
