TUCSON, Ariz. -
Arizona senior guard Davellyn Whyte (Phoenix, Ariz.) was one of six players in the Pac-12 Conference to earn a spot on the Preseason All-Pac12 list, the Pac-12 announced on Wednesday.
Whyte joins five players from five different schools, including Layshia Clarendon (California), Jazmine Davis (Washington), Chucky Jeffery (Colorado), Chiney Ogwumike (Stanford) and Markel Walker (UCLA).
The three-time All Pac-12 selection embarks on her senior season after averaging 17.0 points and 6.8 rebounds in the 2011-12 season. In the Wildcats’ season-opener versus Grand Canyon, Whyte scored 27 points, had eight steals, five rebounds and four assists.
In her career, Whyte is on track to become one of the most notable players in Arizona history. She ranks in the top 10 in several career categories, including third in three-point field goals made and scoring average and fifth in all-time scoring.
