Three Arizona Football Players Earn Pac-10 All-Academic Honors

Three Arizona football players earned Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic honors and another three were selected honorable mention for 2002.

Senior quarterback Jason Johnson earned first-team honors for the second consecutive season and was joined by UA linebacker and sophomore long snapper Ben DalMolin, who earned first-team defensive honors.

Redshirt freshman cornerback Darrell Brooks earned second-team defensive all-academic honors while redshirt freshman quarterback Nic Costa, senior wide receiver/special teams player Gens Goodman and senior place kicker Sean Keel were honorable mention.

Johnson, a graduate student, completed a business management degree with a 3.79 grade point average and carries a 3.74 for his religious studies graduate course. DalMolin, who earned honorable mention in 2001, was cited for his 3.23 GPA in wildlife-watershed resources. Brooks, with an undeclared major, has a GPA of 3.27.

Costa (3.44, psychology), Goodman (3.16 chemistry) and Keel (3.05, ecology and evolutionary biology) also met the minimium requirement of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average for at least a completed full year's coursework at their institution.
