Arizona Head Coach Sean Miller
"When you have twenty-three assists on thirty field goals, it really means that the team is playing very well together, sharing the ball. I'm happiest to see Kevin Parrom come in today, and really settle back into his role. It started during the Oregon game, and he was excellent against both Utah and Colorado, but I have been seeing him in practice coming back to himself and regaining his confidence. There are a couple big plays that he made tonight that probably wouldn't have happened two, four, even six weeks ago. He had four assists, no turnovers, a steal, and went two of four from three in twenty three minutes, and I could see that he was playing like the Kevin Parrom that played thirty-eight games for us last season and really was a crucial part of our success. I can only hope that he continues to play like this throughout the rest of the season, because we really need him."
"Kyle Fogg really set the tone for us tonight. I told him after the game that twenty points can come in a lot of ways, and we needed each and every one. His seventeen in the first half sent us off with a lead and a lot of confidence, and in the second half he did a very good job at taking care of the ball."
"After the Oregon game, we got really careless, but tonight we played for most of the game with only six turnovers. Taking care of the ball is really the way we can become a better team, and it's something we need to do well going further."
"I think we prepared well for the match-up zone. A lot of teams in the conference use it, and it really helps us all when we are prepared for it. When you move and share the ball, you really can't argue with the result, like twenty-three assists in a college game."
"Our real concern is the second game of the weekend. We haven't been handling it well lately. I'm proud of our effort against Colorado, but the goal is obviously to win. We did well against Oregon State, but then played our worst performance this season against Oregon. We just have to have a good day tomorrow, prepare well, and not worry that this game is going to be nationally televised. We just have to focus on what we need to do to be successful."
Arizona Player Quotes
#21 Kyle Fogg
On shooting performance
"I felt good out there; people said I was in a slump but I wasn't. My teammates found me and we were able to go on a good run to win the game."
"I wanted to stay aggressive and bounce back from the Colorado game. We had a really good week of practice and we played well tonight."
On the crowd
"The home crowd was behind us, they were great tonight. When we get a lead it is tough for teams to fight back with our crowd."
On shooting being contagious
"When one guy starts hitting shots we feed off each other. We're getting closer to each other every day and it feels like a family out there."
On Washington game
"We all came to Arizona to play tough competition and in big games, we expect to have another big one on Saturday."
#44 Solomon Hill
On shooting performance
"I just told the guys to stay with it, just keep shooting. The one thing about (Brendon) Lavender is that he shoots the ball no matter what. They just have to keep shooting with confidence."
On getting the right guys the ball
"We need to understand what guys to go to in certain situations. Tonight (Kyle) Fogg was feeling good and he got shots, then (Brendon) Lavender was feeling good and we got him the ball. Obviously we would like everybody to be hitting their shots but when that doesn't happen we have to give the ball to the right guys."
On preparing for Washington game
"Just stay with the same program, keep the same routine. Last time we prepared for Oregon State but didn't prepare for Oregon as well, this time we need to prepare for both teams. We need the same mentality that we had tonight for Washington."
