A forward from Yorba Linda, Calif., Erin Clewett has been a four-year starter for Esperanza High School. She is a four-time first team All-Sunset League, three-time Division I All-CIF and two-time All-Orange County selection. Named her team's Offensive Player of the Year as a senior, Clewett led Esperanza in scoring with 12 goals and set new school records in career points (123), career goals (46) and career games played (115). She also plays for the CRSC Infinity club team.
NIKKI DAVID * Midfielder/Defender * Freshman * Manhattan Beach, Calif. * Mira Costa High School
Hailing from Manhattan Beach, Calif., midfielder/defender Nikki David lettered three times in soccer and four times in track at Mira Costa High School. A team captain, David helped the Mustangs to a 14-6-1 record during her senior season, while tallying 10 goals and 12 assists (32 points). She was a first team All-Bay League selection, was named Most Outstanding Player and earned scholar-athlete recognition. Her club team, Fram Splash, was League Cup and Surf Cup champion and was a National Cup semi-finalist in 2001.

Transferring to the UA from the University of Nebraska, midfielder/forward Lindsey Greenwood will be a junior this fall. During her two seasons with the Huskers, she played in 46 contests, collecting 35 shots, six goals and seven assists (19 points). Last year, Nebraska went 17-5-1 overall and 8-1-1 in Big 12 play and earned a berth in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Originally from Bettendorf, Iowa, Greenwood was twice named Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Iowa while playing for Pleasant Valley High School. She also played for the Quad City Strikers club team, which won three state championships.
ALTHEA JONES * Mid./Def. * Freshman * Pickering, Ontario, Can. * St. Mary Catholic High School
Coming from Pickering, Ontario, midfielder/defender Althea Jones will be the first-ever Canadian to play soccer for the UA. Playing her high school soccer at St. Mary Catholic, Jones was named Most Valuable Player as a junior and was a two-time All-Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletics Conference selection. The Monarchs are three-time champion of the Hangar Varsity High School Indoor Tournament and twice won the South Carlton Tournament. Jones plays for the Pickering Power club team that was the 2002 Indoor Ontario Cup champion.
JENNIFER KLEIN * Midfielder/Forward * Freshman * Prescott, Ariz. * Prescott High School
A product of Prescott (Ariz.) High School, Jennifer Klein has been a four-year starter for a Prescott team that was two-time Arizona Desert Sky Region champion and was state runner-up in 1999. She was the team's leading scorer as a sophomore and a junior and was a first team All-Arizona selection both seasons. Klein plays for the S.C. Del Sol Crossfire club team and has been a member of the state Olympic Development Pool for two years. Also a cross country standout, Klein was Arizona state champion in both 2000 and 2001, was selected the Wells Fargo Regional Athlete of the Year as a senior and was an All-American in the sport.
LISA KOSENA * Forward/Midfielder * Freshman * Englewood, Colo. * Cherry Creek High School
A forward/midfielder from Englewood, Colo., Lisa Kosena has earned all-conference and honorable mention All-Colorado laurels while playing for Cherry Creek High School. She led Cherry Creek to a 17-2-0 record and a 5A State Championship last year and was one of the top 15 scorers in her league. Kosena, who plays for the Colorado Storm club team, is just beginning her senior season of high school soccer.
MAGGIE MacCOOL * Forward/Midfielder * Freshman * Sammamish, Wash. * Skyline High School
A four-year letterwinner in both track and soccer at Skyline High School, Maggie MacCool was a two-time first team All-Eastside and All-KingCo selection and was the 3A KingCo Player of the Year in 2001. Tallying 14 goals and five assists, she helped the Spartans to a 13-5-2 overall mark and a state quarterfinals berth. MacCool ended her career as Skyline's all-time leading scorer. Also a standout middle-distance runner, she was the track team's MVP in 2000 after being named Most Improved in 1999. MacCool plays for the Eastside FC club team out of Bellevue, Wash. She was the team's leading scorer and helped the squad to the U-19 Division championship and a third-place finish in the state in 2000 and 2001.
AMANDA MARTIN * Goalkeeper * Freshman * Franklin, Tenn. * Franklin High School
Amanda Martin, a goalkeeper from Franklin (Tenn.) High School, was a three-time All-Tennessee, All-Middle Tennessee and All-District II selection as a four-year letterwinner with the Rebels. She was named the District II Defensive Most Valuable Player as both a junior and a senior. Martin tallied 13 shutouts her senior year while helping Franklin to a 17-3-0 record and a state finals berth. She plays for the Lady Express club team out of Brentwood, Tenn., and has been a member of the Tennessee State ODP pool since 1997.
MALLORY MILLER * Forward/Midfielder * Freshman * Tucson, Ariz. * Salpointe Catholic High School
A four-year letterwinner at Tucson's Salpointe Catholic High School, forward/midfielder Mallory Miller was a three-time All-Tucson and two-time All-Arizona honoree. She was the Arizona Southern Region Player of the Year as a junior while collecting 17 goals and nine assists (43 points). The Lancers were the Arizona 5A state runner-up last year as well. Miller plays for the Sabino Vista Bobcats club team that was the Arizona Premier League champion in 2001. She was also a four-year member of the state ODP pool.
SHANNON PIDD * Defender * Freshman * Tucson, Ariz. * Catalina Foothills High School
A defender and Tucson native, Shannon Pidd was a three-year letterwinner in both soccer and track at Foothills and was a three-time All-Arizona and All-Southern Arizona selection, despite missing her junior year with an ACL injury. As a defender, Pidd was part of a Falcon defense that surrendered only six goals in 24 games her senior year. The squad went 21-2-1 overall and lost in the state finals game that season. Also a track and field standout, Pidd was part of a 4x100-meter relay that was three-time Southern Region champion. She collected several academic honors, as well, and will be attending the UA on Spirit of Discovery and Provost Scholarships.
