Seven of 15 teams ranked in current Golf World/Nike Coaches Poll


TUCSON, Ariz. - Following a tournament this weekend in Oregon, the University of Arizona men’s golf team returns home to host the 2007 National Invitational Tournament, April 2-3, at Omni Tucson National Golf Club.  Seven of the 15 teams in the field are nationally ranked.


One of the finest college golf events in the nation, the 2007 National Invitational Tournament is a 54-hole event, which will be contested at Omni Tucson National, a par 72, 7,094-yard layout.  Thirty-six holes will be played on Monday, April 2 with 18 following on Tuesday, April 3.  Action is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. PDT each day.


Seven teams in the field are currently ranked in the March 13 Golf World/Nike Coaches Poll.  The following teams are scheduled to compete (ranking): Arizona State (18), Duke (20), Kent State, New Mexico, Northwestern, Pepperdine, Texas (21), Texas A&M (12), Texas Christian, Texas Tech, Tulsa (23), UCLA (10), UNLV (8) and host Arizona (two squads).

Tuesday, March 28        Third Round, 7:30 a.m. PDT
