TUCSON (AP) - Arizona's full-court trapping press rattled Washington State and Shawntinice Polk had a double-double to spark the Wildcats to a 78-51 victory at home on Monday.

Polk scored 19 points and had 17 boards for her second straight double-double. She had 19 points and 15 rebounds on Saturday in a victory over Washington.

Arizona won its ninth straight game overall and recorded its 20th consecutive home victory, the sixth-longest streak nationally.

Polk reached double figures in each category by halftime, with 10 points and 11 rebounds, but her inside game added to a full-court trap defense that put Washington State away midway through the second half.

Washington State (4-7, 0-2) closed a 13-point lead to 41-35 on a Candace Fields three-point play with 13:38 remaining in the game. Polk countered with an offensive put-pack, which started a 14-0 run.

When Arizona (10-2, 2-0) was not getting the ball inside to Polk, the Wildcats were converting steals and Cougar turnovers into lay-ups with a tenacious press. Dee-Dee Wheeler, who scored 19 points, added six points in the crucial span that included a lay-up off an assist from Polk for a 55-35 lead with nearly nine minutes remaining.

Washington State's five-minute scoring drought ended on a Jessica Perry lay-in with 8:31 left.

Natalie Jones added 13 points for Arizona, and Shannon Hobson registered 11 on 4-for-5 shooting.

Washington State was led by the 12 points from Perry, while Kim Dugan had 10.
