TUCSON, Ariz. ?- Junior Wildcat pitcher Alicia Hollowell threw her second consecutive no-hitter this season against Marshall in the Worth Wildcat Invitational on Friday, defeating the Thundering Herd, 7-0.

Hollowell fanned 15 batters over seven innings to put her season total at 63. She allowed two baserunners on a pair of walks but continued her hitless innings streak from last weekend’s no-hitter against Tennessee-Chattanooga to 12 innings.

Sophomore shortstop Kristie Fox kept up her offensive heroics by going yard for the fourth time this season over the left field fence in the first inning with a runner on. The homer knocked in her 14th RBI of the year, keeping her in the team lead.

Sophomore Caitlin Lowe led the Cats’ offense against Marshall with three hits in four at-bats, scoring one and driving in two. Lowe’s season average is second on the team at .533.

Arizona’s seventh win of the season came with a brief rain delay in the third inning and followed a lengthy weather delay that cancelled two games on Friday. Consequently, the Worth Wildcat Invitational schedule was altered and Arizona will play on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Hawaii and 3 p.m. against Northern Iowa. Sunday’s games will pit the third-seeded team against the fourth-seeded team at 10 a.m., and the second-seeded team will play the first-seeded team at noon.
