Wildcats have won this event in each of the last two seasons

 

TUCSON, Ariz. + The University of Arizona men’s golf team returns to action, Feb. 23-25, at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate at Leilehua Golf Course in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

 

The 2005 John A. Burns Intercollegiate is a 54-hole event, which will be contested at Leilehua Golf Course, a par 72, 6,916-yard layout.  Eighteen holes will be played each day beginning on Feb. 23.

 

Five of the teams in the field are currently ranked in the GCAA/Bridgestone Top-25 Coaches Poll.  The following 21 teams are scheduled to compete: Arizona, Auburn, Brigham Young, Colorado State, Denver, Hawaii, Hawaii-Hilo, Long Beach State, Nevada, New Mexico, Pacific, San Diego State, San Francisco, San Jose State, SMU, Texas-El Paso, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UC-Santa Barbara, UNLV, and Utah.

 

The Wildcats, currently ranked 19th in the most recent GCAA/Bridgestone Top-25 Coaches Poll, have won this event in each of the last two seasons.  Last season, Arizona won the event by four strokes with a 31-under-par total of 833.
