Tucson, Ariz.--University of Arizona women's soccer lost its second conference match of the season Sunday afternoon, falling to Utah 3-1 at Ute Field.

Sophomore Ana-Maria Montoya kick-started the Arizona (0-9-2, 0-2-1) offense with a team high four shot attempts and one goal, an unassisted chipper from the right side at seven yards out in the 26th minute. The goal was her first for the 2011 season.

Sophomore Jazmin Ponce rocketed off three shots in the match, while junior Sarah NeSmith and Shannon Heinzler added two each for the Wildcats' 15-shot total. Junior Kristin Strother, sophomore Samantha Cummings, and freshman Emily Lai also had one shot each for the day.

For on-goal attempts, the Wildcats out shot Utah (7-4-1, 3-0-0) 2-1 in the first half, and also edged the Utes on overall shots 7-6 for the period.

On the day, Utah had a narrow advantage in shot attempts with sixteen to Arizona's fifteen.

Senior goalie Ashley Jett grabbed five saves on the day, along with the three allowed goals.

Up next, the Wildcats return to Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium to play host to conference foes Oregon and Oregon State. Arizona will take on the Ducks on Friday, October 7 at 7 p.m. MST. Sunday, October 9, the Wildcats will face Oregon State at noon.
