Women's Tennis Players Selected for NCAA Tournament

TUCSON, Ariz. - The NCAA announced the singles and doubles selections for the 2004 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Tournament on Thursday. Among the selections were one Wildcat singles player and one doubles team.

No. 11 singles player Dianne Hollands was an at large selection for the west region. Hollands is 27-11 on the season, and has played primarily in the first position for the Wildcats.

In doubles, Arizona's No. 5 duo of Hollands and fellow junior Maja Mlakar received an automatic selection for the Division I doubles competition.

Singles and doubles competition will begin on May 24 and will conclude on May 29. Competition will take place in Athens, Georgia.

As a team the Wildcats will head to Los Angeles, Calif. to take on No. 21 Indiana in the first round of regional action for the NCAA tournament.
