TUCSON, Ariz.- The Arizona volleyball team won its final Pac-10 road match of the season in four games over Oregon State in Corvallis on Friday. Game scores were 29-31, 30-24, 30-19, 30-25.
The win bumped Arizona's overall record to 14-13 for the season, marking the first time UA has been over.500 since September 18. The victory also evened the Wildcats conference record at 8-8. Oregon State fell to 15-13 for the season and 5-11 in the Pac-10 with the loss.
Sophomore Kim Glass bounced back from a down night at Oregon on Thursday with a 28-kill outing against the Beavers on the Friday. She finished the match with a .323 hitting percentage, two service aces, 11 digs and three total blocks.
Including Glass' school record setting 15th match of the season with 20 or more kills, five Arizona players finished in double digit kills on the night.
Classmates Bre Ladd and Jennifer Abernathy chipped in with 14 and 11 kills, respectively. Ladd hit a match-high .650 and led all players with seven total blocks. Abernathy, who was coming off an 18-kill performance against the Ducks on Thursday, finished with 13 digs against the Beavers on Friday.
Junior Jolene Killough racked up 13 kills en route to a .318 hitting percentage and freshman Kristina Baum added 12 kills with just two errors for a .417 attack percentage.
Junior libero Kelli Mulvany tied a career-high with 24 digs in the win.
The Wildcats will close out their Pac-10 regular season at home next weekend with a pair of matches against the Washington schools in McKale Center. Arizona will take on Washington on Friday and Washington State on Saturday with both matches slated for a 7 pm MST first serve.
