Malia O?Neal Cleared by NCAA

TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona freshman point guard Malia O'Neal of Seattle today was cleared by the NCAA and could travel with the team to Maryland this weekend.

A four-year letterwinner at Garfield High School, O’Neal was a four-time all-conference selection. She was the Associated Press (AP) and Seattle Times Washington Player of the Year as a senior and was twice named the Washington state Player of the Year by both Gatorade and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. O’Neal was also a Seattle Times first team all-state selection as a junior and senior, and was a second-team pick as a sophomore.

O’Neal averaged 18 points, 8.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 steals per game as a senior when her team went 26-1, captured the state title and was ranked second nationally by Student Sports.
