TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona men's golf team finished in second place Tuesday at the Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nev.

The Wildcats posted a final-round 283 (-5) to finish the 54-hole event with a 12-under 852 tally. It was the first time the Cats have posted three under-par rounds in an event since last season's Wolf Pack Classic, Oct 8-9, in which the team posted a 14-under 850 total. New Mexico State topped the 13-team field with a three-round total of 847 (-17).

Arizona had 10 rounds at par or better in this event. In fact, each Wildcat carded at least one round at par or better in these three rounds.

Sophomore Tarquin MacManus was Arizona's top finisher after firing a final-round 64 on Tuesday en route to a tie for fourth place at seven-under 209. The eight-under tally was a career low for the native of Cairns, Queensland, Australia, and equaled the seventh-lowest score in relation to par in school history. It was also the lowest score recorded by an Arizona player since January 2007.

MacManus' top-five finish marked the fourth top-10 finish of his career and his first this season.

Tyler Neal carded an even-par 72 to finish in a tie for seventh place at four-under 212. For Neal, who won this event last year, it was his second career top-10 finish.

Roberto Galletti and Jonathan Khan each tied for 16th place at even-par 216. Galletti closed with a 75, while Khan posted a 72. Brad Nicholson finished in a tie for 67th place at 17-over 233.

The Wolf Pack Classic was contested at Wolf Run Golf Club, a par-72, 7,100-yard layout. Arizona will next be in action, Oct. 26-28, at the Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational in Windermere, Fla.
