Arizona Head Coach Sean Miller Quotes

"Just another thrilling game in McKale, you almost expect it to come down to the wire, you almost even expect to go into overtime. We didn't play smart basketball in the last three minutes, partly because we're a young team, and although we've been in a lot of close games, we haven't been in enough to be good in those situations. We have to be a smarter team, a better team. You don't want to give a guy a full court run in that situation. Our defense needs to be tighter. I'm glad we learned that lesson with a win. It was just another amazing play by Nic (Wise)."

"When you lose a few games it hurts your confidence, which can halt your improvement, but winning the last two has restored our confidence, which allows us to focus on improving rather than repairing."

On junior forward Jamelle Horne:

"He can be very good. Jamelle is one of those players where he can be his own worst enemy. I've talked to him about it and I'm sure his other coaches have too. It's body language; not letting a bad play get him down."

On the team getting a break for Christmas:

"They do. Our schedule is set. Hopefully everyone on our team has a great Christmas. Some of our guys can't make it home, but they'll be with one of the coaches or their teammates; they'll be taken care of."

Arizona Player Quotes

#13 Nic Wise

Asked if tonight's final shot was a repeat of Monday night's:

"It was a little different actually; I had the ball in my hands the whole time here. The same thing was going through my head though: mainly just the will not to lose."

"We have a young team and we're getting better day by day."

"Coach tells us everyday that every game comes down to the last two minutes and that's what we always prepare for in practice."

If the final second shots give him confidence:

"To be honest, yeah. Some people may say it was just a lucky shot but that win gave us as a team more confidence."

On having Horne back after his injury:

"When he [Jamelle] came off the bench, he was a big sparkplug for us."

#42 Jamelle Horne

"This game came down to the buzzer, but we made it and we're going into Christmas happy."

"Coach is telling us not to let Wise bail us out but he is and we're not making any complaints about that right now."

"I was definitely not at 100% tonight. I had that momentum going at the beginning. I definitely try to have high energy to bring to the team."

"We definitely finished this game the hard way, but we finished it."
