LONG BEACH, Calif. - At the Pac-10 Championships on night three, the No. 1 Arizona Wildcats placed eight swimmers into final heats as Jack Brown, Jake Tapp, Nimrod Shapira Bar-Or and Kevin Munsch highlighted the Wildcat attack.
Brown finished the 400 I.M. with a time of 3:46.05, good for second behind Cal's Bobby Bollier's 3:45.05. Clark Burckle was seventh in the final heat as well with a time of 3:49.19.
In the 100 butterfly, Jordan Slaughter placed sixth with a time of 47.31. The Golden Bears dominated the final heat in the 100 fly by placing six swimmers into the top eight.
Shapira Bar-Or turned in an impressive 200 freestyle time, going 1:35.18, good for fourth place overall. In the "B" heat final, Jean Basson and Joel Greenshields finished 1-2 with the Olympians swimming times of 1:36.35 and 1:37.20, respectively.
Munsch and freshman Carl Mickelson each placed into the top eight in the 100 breast. Munsch was fifth overall with a time of 53.17. He was followed by Mickelson who was seventh (53.41).
The 400 medley relay closed the events Friday night with the foursome of Tapp, Munsch, Slaughter and Shapira Bar-Or finishing third in a time of 3:11.07.
