On the California Golden Bears:
"Defensively, they challenge you with their seven-man rushes, but they also have a nice complementary package in their pass defense, and that's why they are playing so well. They have made a number of big plays. They have had a number of penalties, but they are playing aggressively. I see a lot of hard, aggressive plays that have turned into some big plays for them on that side."
"Offensively, Kyle Boller is a really good player, and he brings a lot of the things with him that a veteran quarterback would have. The guy who gives them the spark is Joe Igber because he is a quick little back; he runs inside, he catches the ball outside, he's tough and durable, and he forces the defense to play the run. You cannot give him a lot of space to run, and they balance their offense with all of that. Boller is the one who makes the plays, but Igber makes the difference because he forces the defense to play the run."
"They really follow the ball a lot. Their defensive secondary has been physical with the receivers, and because of that, the balls are being tipped or thrown away from the receivers and closer to some defenders. We just have to be sure that we're not throwing it up for grabs. We have to be careful with what we're doing and what we're seeing."
On redshirt freshman halfback Gainus Scott:
"Gainus gave a little spark to us. He read his routes well, and he is a strong inside runner. Gainus really gave us a boost. He showed us some good things, and that was a good sign to have him back. Gainus is a little more able to get on the corner, while Beau (Carr) is a good, hard inside runner. Beau is very physical, and Gainus is a little quicker."
On senior wide receiver Bobby Wade:
"He is likely to finish the season with a number of records and a position among the very best players who have ever played here. He is the leading receiver in the Pac-10, and I don't know if anyone has had a better year. He has been a standout performer, and this year, he has wanted to be a good leader and someone whom the team could count on for his work ethic and how he approaches the games. He really has taken that role to heart."
On Arizona's outlook:
"We are not where we had hoped to be. At this point, we have to look at what we have to do this week. We have to try to win this game this week. We can only think about this game and not look forward to the next game."
"We are going to work to put a good game plan together, and we are going to have well-organized practices. We are going to do the things that we know we need to do this week. Our seniors and our other guys have told me that this group of guys is not going to give up. They've got too much heart, too much in them and too much to live for beyond this season."
