Cats Look to Extend Win Streak with UAPB Monday

TUCSON - The Arizona Wildcats (3-0, 0-0 Pac-10) and the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions (0-2, 0-0, SWAC) will continue the 2010-11 slate with a contest on Mon., Nov. 22. Tip-off is set for 11 a.m. at McKale Center. The Wildcats and the Golden Lions will meet for the first time on Monday.

All Wildcat games can be heard live on KTUC AM 1400. All broadcasts will start 15 minutes prior to tip-off for the pre-game show. Entering their third season calling Arizona Wildcat women's basketball games will be Derrick Palmer (play-by-play) and Alysiah Bond (color). Live video, stats and audio are available at

Senior forward Ify Ibekwe came alive for the Wildcats in their road win at Ole Miss. She grabbed four rebounds in the first five minutes and locked up a double-double, her first of the season, in the first half (14 points and 10 rebounds). She ended the game with 24 points and 17 rebounds. She also pitched in with three assists, three blocks and four steals. In three games played, she's averaging a double-double with 11.3 PPG and 11.3 RPG.

Arizona's main contributors off the bench are coming from their two youngest players. Freshman Candice Warthen is averaging 7.7 PPG and 6.3 RPG in 20.3 minutes per game. Freshman Erica Barnes is averaging 7.7 PPG and 7.3 RPG in 16.3 minutes per game.

The Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions are 0-2 to start the season, with their losses coming at Marquette (88-46) and at in-state rival Arkansas State (59-47). Offensively, the Golden Lions are led by Jasmine Abrams who is averaging 15.0 points per game. Defensively, Jenise Gentry is averaging 6.0 rebounds per game.
