Arizona held onto a share of second in team hitting this week, even after two grueling matches against No. 10 UCLA and fourth-ranked USC. The Wildcats and Colorado State share the runner up spot with a .326 attack percentage. The duo trail undefeated and top-ranked Nebraska's .348. Previous leader Southern California dropped to .323 overall and to fourth in the category.
Santa Clara, whose lone lose this season came at the hands of Arizona, remain the top school in both kills per game and team assists. The Wildcats 18.69 kills per game average trails the Broncos impressive 19.76. Kansas State checks in at third with 18.12 kpg. After dropping to third a week ago, the Wildcats reclaimed the second spot in assists per game from Pacific with a 16.58 apg average. Santa Clara, who have led the category all season, looks firmly entrenched in the top spot with 18.30 apg.
Arizona made its largest improvement of the week in team blocks. Eighth a week ago with 3.21 bpg, the Cats leapfrogged to fifth this week after posting 19.5 blocks against USC to improve to 3.34 bpg.
Individually, Marisa DaLee fell one spot, to second, in hitting percentage. Her .441 season attack percentage trails only Colorado State's Angela Knopf, who has hit .454 thus far. Setter Dana Burkholder held her ground in assists, claiming the eighth spot with 14.31 apg.
Arizona will host Washington and Washington State in McKale Center this weekend. The Huskies and Cats play Friday, and the Cougars pay a visit on Saturday, both matches begin at 7 p.m.
