TUCSON, Ariz. - Three University of Arizona men's golfers were named to the Pacific-10 Conference's all-Academic team, commissioner Tom Hansen announced Thursday.

John Kostis, Tarquin MacManus and Nicholas Park were all honored by the league. Kostis was one of six student-athletes to earn first-team honors, while MacManus and Park received honorable mention kudos.

Kostis, a sophomore from Paradise Valley, Ariz., posted a 76.39 scoring average in seven appearances (18 rounds) this season. He has one top-20 finish to his credit and three of his rounds played were at par or better. Kostis' best finish was a tie for 18th place at the WNMU Cactus Thaw in February.

MacManus, a sophomore from Cairns, Queensland, Australia, led the Wildcats with a 72.35 scoring average and was been UA's top finisher in seven of 13 appearances. He has five top-10 finishes to his credit and 16 of his 40 rounds played were at par or better, including nine rounds in the 60s with a low of 63. MacManus claimed individual medalist honors at the 2009 NCAA Southeast Regional.

Park, a senior from Ithaca, N.Y., posted a 75.17 scoring average in seven appearances (18 rounds) this season. His low round was a 67 on March 20 in a dual match vs. TCU. Park's best finish was a tie for 31st place at the Anteater Invitational in March.

To be eligible for selection to the Pac-10 all-Academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and be either a starter or significant contributor. It marks the ninth consecutive year in which a Wildcat has been named to the all-Academic team, and the three honorees this season equals the most for the program since 1990.

The Arizona men's golf team finished the 2008-09 campaign with an appearance at the NCAA Championships. In 13 varsity appearances, the Wildcats collected six top-five finishes, including runner-up efforts at the Wolf Pack Classic, National Invitational Tournament and the NCAA Southeast Regional.
