El Paso , Texas ?C?The University of Arizona womenˇ?s tennis team continued its play in the Miner Invitational on Saturday. Freshman Jane Huh won her opening match of the day beating Zeljka Juricek of New Mexico State in straight sets; 6-1, 6-1. Huh then advanced to face Weronika Bloczynska but was defeated; 6-3, 6-3.
?Senior Camelia Todorova lost her opening match against Monterrey Techˇ?s Ana Paula de la Pena; 6-0, 7-5, but was able to bounce back and win her next match against Lee Collegeˇ?s Anna Djananova who was forced to retire due to a back injury after Todorova went up 1-0.
?In doubles play, the Cats performed very well with Todorova and Huh beating Weronika Bloczynska and Megan Pritchard; 8-4, to finish in 3rd?place for flight one of the doubles competition.
?Tomorrow Todorova will face Majorie Ondeck of Memphis, while Huh battles New Mexico Stateˇ?s Anna Fagegaltier for 3rd?place in flight one of singles play.
?In the Bulldog Invitational, Natalia Toporowska faced Jolanta Twarowska from the University of Pacific and won; 6-4, 6-3, but was forced to withdraw from her second match due to an injury.
?Katie Orletsky faced Myra Davoudi of Santa Clara and lost a very closely contested match; 6-3, 5-7, (10-8), which concluded the Wildcats play in Fresno.
