MANOA, Hawaii - Freshman Madi Kingdon (Phoenix, Ariz.) recorded 18 kills and and 13 digs for the Arizona volleyball team to lead the Wildcats past San Francisco on Saturday at the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Manoa, Hawaii. Arizona defeated the Dons in five sets, 25-20, 20-25, 25-16, 24-26, 15-10.

Three Arizona players recorded kills in double-figures and four players had digs in double-figures.

Senior Cursty Jackson (Los Angeles) had a game-high eight blocks and also added eight kills, while seniors Courtney Karst (Centennial, Colo.) and Marketa Hanzlova (Liberec, Czech Republic) contributed 13 and 12 digs, respectively.

"Courtney Karst really played well for us at the end," Arizona head coach David Rubio said. "We were really lucky to have her leadership tonight."

Sophomore Candace Nicholson (Long Beach, Calif.) registered a team-high 20 digs and sophomore Emily Helm (Queen Creek, Ariz.), Hanzlova and Kingdon added 10, 13 and 13.

"We gutted the match out tonight," Rubio said. "We weren't as smooth as we were the night before, but we happened to play well enough at the end to win the match."

Jocelyn Levig had 21 kills for the Dons, while Rebecca Kopilovitch recorded 24 digs for San Francisco.
