            Arizona student-athletes benefit from a variety of coaching, career and performance services, none more focused than that provided by associate director of performance enhancement Mark Hill.


            Hill joined the UA staff in January 2004, arriving from the University of Oklahoma where he had been an assistant strength coach. The 2007 year will be his fourth at Arizona.


            Hill, 28, a native of Lanett, Ala., began his professional career in 2000 with the Sooners and acclaimed Jerry Schmidt, director of Sports Enhancement at OU.  


            Along with his coaching of UA football players, Hill also works closely with several other sports including the men’s and women’s basketball programs.


            A three-year starting wide receiver for the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, Hill led the Mocs and was second in the league in receiving in 1998, earning first-team All-Southern Conference honors. He had 53 receptions for 683 yards and two scores. He also returned 12 kickoffs for 279 yards. He finished his career with 100 catches for 1,329 yards.


            During his freshman year, his current colleague at UA, strength and conditioning coach Corey Edmond, was the Mocs’ strength coach.


            Hill earned his degree in sports administration from Chattanooga in 1999. He is married to the former Alesha Peel. The couple has a son, Markieus (10-7-2003).
