Seniors Cursty Jackson (Los Angeles) and Marketa Hanzlova (Liberec, Czech Republic) were named to the Wildcat Classic All-Tournament team. The University of Arizona hosted the Wildcat Classic on Sept. 2 and 3 and each participating team’s coaching staff submitted a ballot. Jackson was unanimously voted the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
In the Wildcats’ three matches versus Presbyterian, Cal State Fullerton and Eastern Washington, Jackson recorded 28 kills and a tournament-high 12 blocks.
Hanzlova contributed 20 kills and 35 digs for Arizona.
Other players to make the team were Cal State Fullerton’s Kayla Neto and Amanda Yamate, Eastern Washington’s Chenoa Rossi-Childress and Presbyterian's Presley Mabrey.
The Wildcats went 3-0 on the tournament, Cal State Fullerton went 2-1, Eastern Washington 1-2 and Presbyterian 0-3.
