Seattle, WASH. ?- The 19th-ranked Arizona women’s soccer team (8-3-2 overall, 3-0-0 Pac-10) defeated Washington (0-11-3 overall, 0-3-0 Pac-10), 1-0, in its first road match of the conference season.
The two teams battled through a scoreless first half with Arizona sophomore goalkeeper McCall Smith and Washington goalkeeper Kelsey Rasmussen posting two saves each.

McCall Smith earned her sixth shutout of the season with two saves.
Head coach Dan Tobias discussed the Wildcats’ third conference win.
“We had some decent chances in the first half,” Tobias said. “We had some corner kicks. Their goalkeeper made some nice saves.”
“Washington is such a well-organized team,” Tobias continued. “They get so many numbers behind the ball and are so difficult to break down in their third of the field. They are a very well coached team; Lesle Gallimore is one of the top coaches in the country.”
The Wildcats will head to Pullman, Wash. to take on Washington State.
“We are looking forward to continuing our first pac-10 road trip. We have a tough match ahead of us in Washington State on Sunday.”
Kickoff in Pullman on Sunday, Oct. 16 is set for 12 p.m.
