The University of Arizona women's basketball team will face Oregon State in the first round of the State Farm Pac-10 Tournament on Saturday, Mar. 8, at 1:15 p.m. PST in HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.

Although they tied with Washington for second in the league standings, the Wildcats (20-7 overall, 13-5 Pac-10) are the No. 3 seed in the tournament, by virtue of the tie-breaker procedure. Oregon State (14-13 overall, 8-10 Pac-10) is the No. 6 seed, also assigned this spot by the tie-breakers after tying with USC and Oregon for fifth in the conference.

No. 7 seed USC and No. 10 Washington State will kick off action in the tournament with a play-in game on Friday, Mar. 7, at 6:30 p.m. PST, followed by another play-in that features No. 8 Arizona State and No. 9 California.

First-round action on Saturday starts at 11 a.m. PST with No. 2 seed Washington facing the winner of the USC/Washington State game. The Wildcats and the Beavers will battle in the second game of that doubleheader.

Arizona swept Stanford and California this weekend to tie for second in the Pac-10, their highest finish since tying for the same spot at the end of the 1999-2000 season with an identical record in conference action. The Wildcats were picked by both the coaches and the media in preseason polls to finish fifth this year. Last season, Arizona tied with Oregon for sixth in the conference standings and was the No. 6 seed in last year's inaugural Pac-10 Tourney.
