2004-05 Season: At the 2005 Pac-10 Championships, finished 12th in the 100 freestyle (51.15) and 20th in the 200 freestyle (1:50.32)...  Against Arizona State, finished third in the 200 freestyle (1:52.98)... Was fifth in the 1000 freestyle versus Stanford... Took sixth-place in both the 500 and 1000 freestyle against California... At the 2004 Texas Invitational, finished 12th in the 500 freestyle (4:53.80) and 14th in the 200 freestyle (1:50.39)... Against Wisconsin, finished second in two events including the 500 freestyle (5:04.60) and the 1000 freestyle (9:57.21).

2003-04 Season: Swam the first leg of the third-place 800 free relay at the 2004 Pac-10 Championships... Also finished14th in the 200 IM (2:03.12)... Finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:51.25) and third in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.72) against Texas... Against California, was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.86) and third in the 200 breaststroke... Won the 200 freestyle (1:50.98) during the tri-meet against Missouri and Northern Arizona...At the 2003 Texas Invitational, placed seventh in both the 200 LC meter IM (2:21.00) and the 200 LC meter free (2:05.55)... Finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:50.18) and fourth in the 500 freestyle (4:58.92) against UCLA... Was second in the 100 LC meter (59.28) freestyle, and third in the 200 LC meter freestyle against USC... Against Wisconsin, finished second in the 200 breaststroke (2:20.04) and third in the 200 freestyle (1:50.40).

2002-03 Season:  Earned All-America honors as part of the 800 free relay that finished sixth at the 2003 NCAA Championships... Swam in the prelims of the 500 freestyle (4:54.09) and the 200 freestyle (1:49.88) at NCAAs... At 2003 Pac-10 Championships, finished sixth in the 500 freestyle (4:49.81), 10th in the 200 freestyle (1:49.13) and 11th in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.60)... Placed second in both the 200 freestyle and 200 breaststroke against Arizona State... Finished as the runner-up in the 400 IM against Stanford (4:26.70)... Won the 100 breaststroke in a stellar time of 1:04.32 against Northern Arizona... Finished first in the 500 freestyle against UCLA (4:57.57).

 

Prep: Four-year letterwinner and three-year team MVP at John F. Kennedy High School... NISCA All-American as a senior... First-team All-Washington that year... Washington High School 3A Swimmer of the Year... Set school records in five different events... Helped JFK HS to a first-place finish at regionals and fifth-place finish at the state championships her senior year... Was the state champion in both the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM... Also competed for King Aquatic Club out of Federal Way, Wash. ... National record holder in the 15-16 age group for the 200, 400 and 800 free relay... Sectional champion in the 200 breaststroke.

 

Personal: Born Katie Jeanne Willis on March 25, 1984, in Auburn, Wash. ... Daughter of Michael and Diane Willis... Has one older brother, Kellen, and a younger brother, Jaren... Major is communications.
