TUCSON, Ariz. ?- Juniors Trevor Crowe, Nick Hundley and Jordan Brown were all named All-America by Collegiate Baseball on Thursday. The All-America recognition is the second of the postseason for both Crowe and Brown and the first for Hundley.
Crowe, the Co-Pac-10 Player of the year and a finalist for the 2005 Golden Spikes Award, garnered first-team honors from the publication after batting .421, with 104 hits, 81 runs score, 104 hits, 25 doubles, 14 triples, nine home runs, 54 RBI and 26 stolen during the regular season this year.
Hundley was named to second-team honors after finishing the 56-game regular season with a .349 average, 54 runs scored, 74 hits, 22 doubles, 43 RBI and a team-best 14 home runs. Hundley, one of three finalists for the 2005 Johnny Bench Award, started 55 games behind the plate for Arizona this season.
Brown, who garnered second-team All-America honors last week from Sports Weekly, was named to Collegiate Baseball’s third-team. The Pac-10 leader in RBI with 77, Brown needs three more runs driven in to become just the fifth player at Arizona to finish a single season with 80 or more RBI.
Arizona will open the postseason on Friday against Missouri in the Fullerton Regional at 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the radio in Tucson on 1290 AM The Source and will be shown live ESPNU.
