TUCSON -- The 2008 season opener featuring Arizona and Idaho is currently under a weather delay.

Idaho won the coin toss and deferred the option to the second half. The Wildcats elected to receive, but as both squads lined up for the opening kickoff at 7:07 p.m., lightening was detected in the area, forcing a 30-minute delay.

The game will continue to be delayed until threatening weather and lightening moves away from the area. Under NCAA guidelines, the game cannot be resumed until lightening has completely vacated a six-mile radius of the stadium and lightening has not struck within the past 30 minutes.
