The UA and the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Day Saturday, Oct. 15, in connection with the 4 p.m. Stanford-Arizona football game at Arizona Stadium.
Local school districts that participate in an "Hispanic Heritage" art/poster contest also will be featured on the video board during the game. The Alltel Fan Fiesta will feature the sounds of Grupo Latido beginning at 1 p.m. on Bear Down Field and Mariachi del Sol will stroll throughout the pre-game tailgate area along with other area youth mariachi bands. Noted Tucson group Los Changuitos Feos will play at halftime with the UA band.

SunTran also will participate in the heritage fiesta with $2 round trip shuttle rides offered from Hi Corbett Field, Fry's at Irvington and Interstate 10, and the northwest corner of the Tucson Mall parking area.
The Stanford-Arizona game kicks off at 4 p.m. and will not be televised.
Note... The UA is believed to have the longest running Spanish-language radio broadcasts among Division I-A football programs. The home-game radio broadcasts began in 1990 on KTZR and currently are carreid through the school's Host Communications media contract on KQTL 1210 AM, with Francisco Romero, Luis Hernandez and Alberto Augusto describing the play.
