Women's Tennis Falls to No. 56 Colorado

BOULDER, COLO. - The No. 34 University of Arizona women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season to No. 56 Colorado, 6-1. With the loss the Wildcats fall to 1-1 on the season while the Buffaloes improve to 2-0.

Colorado got on the board first after winning the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches to take the doubles point. Danielle Steinberg and Juliette Mavroleon paired to win on court one, 8-3.

In singles, Kasia Jakowlew earned Arizona its only point of the match at the No. 3 spot. Jakowlew defeated Veera Nurmi, 3-6, 6-1, 6-3.

The Wildcats will be in action again at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, to face Denver.
