Women's Tennis Prepares for Pair of Matches

TUCSON, Ariz. -

Head coach Vicky Maes and the No. 33 Arizona Women’s Tennis team will host North Texas and No. 46 Cal Poly this weekend on Friday, Feb. 17 and Saturday, Feb. 18. Friday’s match against the Mean Green is slated to take place at 2:30 pm. and Saturday’s match versus the Mustangs will begin at noon.

The Wildcats are 3-2 so far this season, most recently defeating No. 35 San Diego and No. 53 San Diego State. Arizona has not faced any opponents ranked lower than No. 63 this season.

Seniors Natasha Marks (Nottingham, England) and Sarah Landsman (Syosset, N.Y.) have led the Wildcats so far this season, as neither player has lost a match.

North Texas comes into Tucson with a 5-3 record after posting wins over Lamar, Oral Roberts, Louisiana-Lafayette, No. 53 Kansas State and No. 44 TCU and losses to No. 25 Oklahoma, Stephen F. Austin and No. 32 Arkansas.

Cal Poly is 4-2 with wins over UC Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Loyola Marymount and San Jose State and losses to No. 4 UCLA and No. 64 UC Davis.
