TUCSON, Ariz. - The Arizona football team's final public performance before the start of the season was cut short after just 25 scrimmage plays due to thunderstorms that rolled through the campus area just after 6 p.m. local time.

Scheduled for a 6 p.m. scrimmage, coaches pushed up the start by 15 minutes to try and get in as much work as possible before the fast-approaching thunderstorms hit the area. When the scrimmaged kicked off, over 3,500 fans had filed into the east side of Arizona Stadium with others on the way and certainly many others deterred by the deteriorating weather.

Even so, 25 plays gave a pretty good indication of how things have played out over the course of two weeks of training camp. The offense moved the football with relative ease throughout the short duration, scoring on its first drive, similar to how it did a week ago in a public scrimmage at Buena High School in Sierra Vista, Ariz.
