<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">TUCSON - </B>The No.2 Arizona women&rsquo;s swimming and diving team posted their first loss of the season this afternoon to top-ranked Stanford 143-94, dropping their record to 5-1 (3-1 Pac-10), while the <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>No. 5 men&rsquo;s team was defeated by the second-ranked Cardinal 131-110, posting their second loss of the season and dropping their record to 4-2 (1-2 Pac-10).</P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p> </o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="mso-tab-count: 1"> </SPAN>The women&rsquo;s 400 medley relay ?B&rsquo; team of freshman Caitlin Iversen, junior Jacquelyn Craft, freshman Ana Agy and junior Brandy Collins began the meet for the Wildcats, finishing second in the event with a time of 3:45.98.</P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p> </o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="mso-tab-count: 1"> </SPAN>Junior Lacey Nymeyer completed a successful, yet exhausting meet after swimming the three longest distances in a dual meet. Nymeyer finished second in the 1000 free (10.03.75), followed by a first-place finish in the 200 free (1:48.36), while later finishing second in the 500 free (4:54.21).</P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p> </o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="mso-tab-count: 1"> </SPAN>Sophomore Lara Jackson finished second in the 50 free with a time of 23.32 and classmate Anna Turner finished third (23.57), while senior Whitney Myers finished third in the 200 IM (2:02.27) and Iversen finished fourth (2:05.91).</P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p> </o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="mso-tab-count: 1"> </SPAN>In the 200 fly, Agy finished third overall with a time of 2:02.86 and sophomore Taylor Baughman finished fourth in the 100 free with a time of 51.59, while Iversen finished second in the 200 back with a time of 2:01.77.</P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p> </o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="mso-tab-count: 1"> </SPAN>Stanford&rsquo;s Caroline Bruce posted an exhibition time in the 200 breast of 2:13.88 that was not counted in the meet, but good enough to take first place. However, Craft won the event with a time of 2:16.84, while freshman Annie Chandler finished second (2:18.44).</P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p> </o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="mso-tab-count: 1"> </SPAN>The women&rsquo;s 400 free relay team of Collins, sophomore Lindsey Kelly, Baughman and Jackson finished with a victory posting a time of 3:28.47.</P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p> </o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="mso-tab-count: 1"> </SPAN>In the diving well, senior Megan MacDonald finished second in the 1-meter with 247.55 points and finished third in the 3-meter (254.20), while sophomore Allison Scaife finished fourth in the event with<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>246.55 points.</P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p> </o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="mso-tab-count: 1"> </SPAN>On the men&rsquo;s side, the 400 medley relay team of freshman Jake Tapp, junior Ivan Barnes, junior Albert Subirats and senior Adam Ritter won with a time of 3:15.20. Junior Matt Biel finished second in the 1000 free with a time of 9:24.97 and sophomore David Pursley finished third (9:31.79).</P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p> </o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="mso-tab-count: 1"> </SPAN>Sophomore Nicolas Nilo won the 200 free with a time of 1:37.71, while Subirats posted another <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Arizona</st1:place></st1:State> victory in the 50 free, finishing with a time of 20.42.
