Arizona Men?s Tennis Doubles Advance to Elite 8 at NCAA Championships

College Station, Texas ?- Arizona men’s tennis top pair of No. 20 senior Colin O'Grady and junior Roger Matalonga advanced to the Elite 8, at the NCAA Championships, after defeating Ryler DeHeart and GD Jones of Illinois.

 

Today’s match marked a rematch between the two teams from the NCAA Fall Indoor Championship, in which O’Grady and Matalonga fell to the pair, 9-7. O’Grady and Matalonga got the last word in today, defeating DeHeart and Jones, 6-0, 2-6, 6-4.

 

With their win today, O’Grady and Matalonga earned All-American from the NCAA. O’Grady and Matalonga will hit the courts again tomorrow afternoon as they will face off against the defending NCAA Champions, KC Corkery and Sam Warburg of Stanford. Tomorrow will mark the third meeting between these two pairs, as Arizona has lost twice to Stanford’s top team, 8-5 both times.
