Seattle ?C The Arizona volleyball team hit a season-low .047 from the floor against No. 8 Washington, falling to the Huskies in three games on Friday night in Bank of America Arena before a crowd of 3,158.? Game scores were 30-15, 30-14 and 30-22.? The loss drops the Wildcats to 12-6, 2-4 Pac-10, while UW stays undefeated at 16-0, 5-0 Pac-10.

Not only did the Wildcats struggle offensively hitting the ball, UA also posted a season-low three blocks and managed a season-low one service ace in the match.? Washington hit .427 (52-8-103) in the match while posting 10 blocks and five service aces.


Individually for Arizona, freshman Tiffany Owens finished with a team-high eight kills, and junior Randy Goodenough added seven kills.? Sophomore Alanna Resch posted 10 digs, and freshman Paige Weber tallied 26 assists and seven digs.

In game one, Arizona stayed close with the Huskies and trailed 13-11 before UW went on a devastating 14-1 scoring run to take a commanding 27-12 lead.? Washington cruised from there to win 30-15, holding Arizona to a dismal -.026 hitting percentage (9-10-39), while posting a sizzling .516 mark (17-1-31) of its own.

The Wildcats didnˇ?t fair any better in game two.? After trailing UW 12-9 early on, UA gave up an 11-2 run to the Huskies and dropped into a huge hole at 23-11.? The Huskies would put thing away from there, scoring the final five points of the game to win 30-14.? Arizona only managed to hit -.034 (8-9-29) in game two, while giving up a .394 mark (16-3-33) to the Huskies.

Arizona fought back hard in game three, hanging tough with Washington for more than half the game.? The Wildcats trailed most of the game, but cut the UW lead to 20-19.? The Huskies responded with a 5-1 run after that, a gap that proved large enough to hold off Arizona for a 30-22 UW win to complete the sweep.

Arizona will stay on the road and travel to archrival Arizona State on Friday, Oct. 12 for a match at 7 p.m. in Wells Fargo Arena.
