Arizona Head Coach Sean Miller

"I think tonight was really our season's best win. Not because we beat UCLA, who is a very good team, but because of how we beat them. It's very difficult to come back from being down by 15 in the second half. It takes a group of players all playing with a lot of emotion. We made a lot of big shots, and though we struggled in defense in the first half, there was this eight to ten minute stretch in the second half where I think our defense worked harder than they have all season. In the first half, UCLA was 15 of 25, and in the second they were only 10 of 30. They definitely made a lot better shots in the first half.

"We had many individuals step up tonight, and we really needed that to happen. When defense or offense gets tired, it really shows. Both sides of the game are so closely connected. If we can't make a shot, then we have trouble stopping them from getting baskets."

On No. 21 Kyle Fogg, No. 12 Lamont Jones, and No. 42 Jamelle Horne

"Kyle was terrific tonight. Seven of ten from three, three of four from free throws, there was no way we could have won without him. He definitely was playing at an all Pac-10 level, and it's great to see. Momo (Jones) also had a really big game too. He had a lot of great moments, making some key threes, getting to the free throw line, and passing. He did a really great job at moving the ball, and that's what we need. Jamelle had seven defensive rebounds tonight, and that is really what we need to see from him."

"We aren't a very big team, and sometimes size does get the better of us. We played small for a significant amount of time tonight, with Kyle, Nic, and Momo out at the same time. We don't usually have them out together for long. It was very unusual."

On No. 1 Kyryl Natyazhko

"Tonight was pretty tough for Kyryl. Dragovic is a very good shooter, and Kyryl had some trouble staying on him. He played hard, but unfortunately there were a couple plays that didn't go his way. The stepping out of bounds off the steal, and the accidental fouls were very hard on him. He made a great effort, and he is improving daily."

"We practiced very hard this week, and I was proud to see everything in the second half, which was a product of what people don't get to see. Now we have to put this win behind us and get ready for a quick turnaround. Had we lost today, it would have been the toughest loss we've taken all season. The crowd was definitely a huge emotional factor for us. We were a 14 and 14 team, but with they way they were cheering tonight, it was like we were 25 and 4 and playing for the conference title. I can't thank the crowd enough for the energy they bring. Now, I just want to say that everyone needs to get to bed early, and come out on Saturday. Either get up early or don't go to sleep at all. Come out at eleven on Saturday and give us the same environment for our last home game against USC."

Arizona Player Quotes

Lamont Jones

On Coach Miller using both Nic Wise and Lamont Jones in the line-up together a lot:

"We were just playing well together, so coach went with us and came out with the win."

On the difference between the first half and second half defense:

"We just played defense how we play defense. We came together as a team and just competed."

On early season meltdowns in close games:

"That was us 10 games ago. We know each other now. We know how we play. We have great relationships now. It's not a one man show. We know that we have to do everything together."

Kyle Fogg

On his hot hand tonight:

"Yes, I felt good out there. I really owe it to these guys (Nic Wise and Lamont Jones) who did a good job of penetrating and kicking it out to me for open looks."

On hitting seven 3-pointers:

"I had no idea I was gunnin' like that till the end."

Nic Wise

On his first half struggles:

"Every shot I took went in and out. They felt good, they just weren't falling, so I came out in the second half determined to play better. These are my last home games, so I didn't want to go out like that."
