Wildcats in Third after Day One at Pac-10 Championships

Federal Way, Wash. ?- After the first day of competition at the 2007 Pac-10 Championships, the No. 5 Arizona men’s swimming and diving team is in third place with 546 points, while tallying their first conference title in the 800 free relay.


            The Wildcats started tonight’s action with the 200 medley relay of junior Albert Subirats, junior Ivan Barnes, sophomore Nicolas Nilo and freshman Jordan Smith, which finished third with a time of 1:27.08.


            The 800 free relay concluded the events for the first day, as the team of senior Adam Ritter, Nilo, freshman Jean Basson and junior Darian Townsend won with a time of 6:20.08.


            Competition will continue Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center. Prelims will begin at 11 a.m. (PST) and finals will start at 6 p.m.
