NORMAL, Ill. - The Arizona women's golf team stands in fifth, Friday after its second round of competition at the NCAA Central Regional in Normal, Ill.
The Wildcats shot a 44-over-par 612 to trail second-round leaders, Vanderbilt and Michigan State by seven strokes after they both shot a 37-over-par 605 to tie for first. Baylor (609) and Southern California (611) occupied third and fourth, respectively.
Individually, sophomore Erica Blasberg is at the top of the leader board after shooting a second round 73 (+2). Blasberg has shot 1-under-par 141 through two rounds off the tournament.
In her first tournament of the season, sophomore Alejandra Martin is tied for 20th after carding a 12-over-par 154. Junior Mar Garcia is tied for 44th at 15-over-par 157. Sophomore Lani Elston is tied for 78th place after shooting 20-over-par 162. While sophomore Cassandra Kirkland is tied for 84th after shooting a 21-over-par 163.
The Wildcats will tee off in Saturday's final round beginning at 8:10 a.m. CST. The tournament is being held at Illinois State University Golf Course, par 71 over 6,108 yards.
