WILDCAT COUNTRY - Arizona won the championship of the Fiesta Bowl Classic, 85-71, over Boston University. The Wildcats were led by Tournament MVP Hassan Adams, who had 17 points in the victory. Read a recap of all the action below, as well as a final box score.

Second half:

20:00 - Walton gets the first possession and muscles to the bucket for the layin. Adams gets it after a steal for another layin and it's 48-38 for Arizona.

19:00 - Carr responds at the other end to make it 48-40.

18:27 - Boston's Ryan Butt moves some furniture underneath for the hoop and some harm. He makes the free throw to close Arizona's lead to 48-43.

18:10 - Walton forces one through the keyhole to make it 50-43, and gets another after a Boston basket to make it 52-46 in favor of Arizona.

16:30 - Walton is feelin' groovy from 3P land on top to continue a great second half and give Arizona a 55-46 lead.

15:52 - Grochowalski better not make anymore 3P like that last one because I'm getting tired of typing out his name. Arizona leads 55-49.

15:44 - Walton makes two free throws to give Arizona the 57-49 margin. Luke Walton has gotten jiggy in the second half and has taken over the game with 11 points in 4:15 after scoring only 3 in the first half.

13:48 - Arizona's Gardner rattles the cage from 3P land left baseline and the Cats start to pull away at 60-49.

12:47 - Grochowalski makes a bucket and Anderson returns the favor at the other end with Arizona leading 64-53.

11:59 - Butt (heh, heh, I said Butt) nails down a 3P to make it 64-56

11:30 - Walton continues the downpour of buckets with a short jumper and the Cats lead 66-56.

11:08 - Collins jumps from behind the hedges for the leaning layin to close it to 66-58.

9:46 - Boston's Turner drops some thunder from 3P land to close within 66-61.

9:44 - Anxious moment in McKale as Luke Walton goes down on his bad ankle and has to limp off the floor. Cats really need him down the stretch.

8:59 - Frye goes to the line after getting his burger grilled. He makes one of two free throws to extend Arizona's lead to 67-61.

8:43 - Adams looks like he'll have the showtime dunk but Collins comes out of nowhere and is called for an intentional foul. Adams makes two free throws and the Cats go up 69-61.

8:20 - Stoudamire completes the 5-point turnaround with the 3P from the left baseline to make it 72-61.

7:50 - Butt sends the crowd to theirs with the 18 foot jumper right baseline and it's 72-63.

7:25 - Frye cooks up another gem with a kiss off the glass from 8 feet right side to make it 74-63 for Arizona.

6:04 - Adams keeps knocking on the door and gets his own offensive board and layin for the 76-63 UA lead.

5:49 - Boston's Turner makes one of two free throws to close withi 76-64.

5:31 - Stoudamire turns on the oven from 3P land right wing and it's 79-64.

4:50 - Turner goes to the pine after fouling out on Rodgers' drive. Rodgers donks the first and squeezes in a prayer on the second to make it 80-64 for Arizona.

4:12 - Adams cleans up the kitchen inside and gets the running 3 foot jumper on the right side to make it 82-64.

3:39 - Boston's Seymour rains fire from 3P land on top and it's 82-67.

2:14 - Boston's Bell finally gets one to go his way with the running 3 foot J and the foul. Bell misses the free throw and it's 82-69.

1:29 - Gardner checks the weather forecast and drops in a 3P from on top to make it 85-69.

:15.8 - Grochowalski caps the evening with a fastbreak layin and it's time to hit the showers.

Final score: Arizona 85, Boston 71

Arizona led 44-38 at halftime thanks to 9 points from Hassan Adams. Here's how the first half action went down:

20:00 - Boston wins the tipoff as we almost get wiped out at halfcourt.

19:17 - Arizona's Hassan Adams squirts mustard all over the hotdog with the reverse layin and some change. He misses the free throw and Arizona leads 2-0.

18:45 - Boston's Billy Collins roams the range for the lunging layin right side and we're tied at 2.

18:24 - Arizona's Luke Walton experiences the dark side of the force and is called for the charge.

18:05 - UA's Channing Frye waits for low tide and gets the ONE-HANDED SLAM for the 4-2 lead.

17:35 - Collins washes the threads from 3P land left wing and Boston leads 5-4.

16:36 - Boston's Rashad Bell drops anchor on Walton underneath. Walton makes one of two free throws to tie the game at 5.

16:10 - Frye goes to the chalkboard for some schooling of the defender for the 3 foot jumper to give the Cats a 7-5 lead.

16:00 - Bell rings at the other end to tie the game at 7.

13:30 - Boston's Collins is yapping at the Cats with a couple of buckets, but Anderson and Gardner have responded to give Arizona a 14-13 lead.

12:15 - Carr runs up the odometer from 18 feet on the left baseline to give Boston the 15-14 lead.

10:45 - Adams leaves a business card from 3P land right wing to put the Cats up 17-15.

8:46 - Adams threads the needle under the bucket for the layin on the Jason Gardner missed lob for a 19-15 lead.

7:57 - Arizona's Dennis Latimore gets off the couch to change the channel from 8 feet in front and the Cats are up 21-15.

7:22 - Boston's Paul Seymour jumps out of the jack in the box for the board and 3 foot jumper. Arizona leads 21-17.

7:00 - UA's Isaiah Fox buys a bucket with the layin underneath and Arizona is up 23-17.

5:53 - Arizona's Will Bynum gets the blue collar bucket and some overtime pay for the layin and the foul. Bynum misses the free throw but Arizona leads 25-17.

5:40 - Boston's Shaun Wynn takes the freeway and is untouched for the kiss off the glass to close it to 25-19.

5:15 - Wynn has found the secret passageway as he tunnels to the bucket for another layin and the Arizona lead is down to 4 at 25-21.

4:54 - Collins is knocked off the bookcase on his 3P attempt by Andre Iguodala. Collins hits two out of three free throws and the lead is only 2 at 25-23.

4:44 - Walton goes to the line having made only 1 out of 5. He makes two free throws and Arizona leads 27-23.

4:12 - Bell keeps the chimes going with the TERRIER SLAM from Wynn to close it to 2 at 27-25.

3:35 - Frye sizzles the bacon with a short jumper to end the Arizona drought from the field. The Wildcats lead 29-25.

3:20 - Bell with a leaning tower of Pisa hanging jumper from 15 feet right baseline to close the game to 29-27.

3:03 - Iggy pops two free throws to give Arizona the 31-27 margin.

2:43 - Boston's Grochowalski buys a vowel from 10 feet to make it 31-29.

2:22 - Salim Stoudamire lights a stick of dynamite from 3P land right wing to put Arizona up 34-29.

2:15 - Grochowalski turns on the Arizona snooze alarm for the easy layin and the UA is up by only 34-31

1:55 - Grochowalski lights up the furnace with an 18 foot jumper after Arizona's Jason Gardner makes two free throws. Arizona leads 36-33.

1:43 - Stoudamire gets change for a bucket with a foul on the play. He makes the free throw for the three point play and the Cats are up 39-33.

1:20 - Boston's Kevin Gardner goes toe to toe for the layin.

1:10 - Adams with a quick rebuttal to make it 41-35 for Arizona.

:45 - Boston's Chaz Carr raises his arms from 3P land with a waterfall on the left baseline to close it to 41-38.

:05 - Arizona's Rick Anderson drops in an acorn from the treetops for the 3 pointer to end the half with an Arizona lead of 44-38.
