Arizona This Year: Coburn’s potential for power in the run-production part of the lineup will be a big key for the Cats during her senior season.

 

2005: Drove home the game-winning RBI in the final two games of the regular season at Stanford on May 13 and 14 ... Had four RBI with a home run and a double in a 9-0 win over No. 7 Oregon State on April 30 ... Went two-for-two with a home run, two RBIs, two runs scored, and two walks in a win over Oregon on April 10 ... Responsible drove in all UA runs with a three-run shot in a 6-3 loss to California on April 3 ... Named Pac-10 Player of the Week for Mar. 15-21 when she hit .357 with three home runs and 10 RBI, half of the team's tournament total ...  Threw out two-of-six potential base stealers in the six games she caught during the Kia Klassic.  Also had a perfect fielding percentage in the tournament ... Had 10 RBI in five games against ranked teams following a power outage of one RBI in eight games ... Went two-for-three with a home run and two RBIs in a win over Louisiana Tech ... Came through with a two-run double to the opposite field in a 7-0 win against Marshall ... Opened the year with a home run and five RBI in UA's five games of the Arizona Pepsi Classic.

 

2004: Started 60 games for Arizona, nearly all at third base... Hit .260, with 44 hits... Drove in 41 runs, second on the team behind Mackenzie Vandergeest... Had 13 homers, just one behind Vandergeest for the team lead... Had 55 putouts and 76 assists... Stole eight bases in 12 attempts... Had a .916 fielding percentage... Started the season with a five-game hitting streak from Feb. 29-March 18, during which she had seven hits in 12 at-bats... Three hits and five RBI against North Texas... Seven hits on final weekend of regular season at Washington and UCLA when UA clinched its eighth league title.

 

2003: Started all 63 games for the Cats... Hit .249 on the season, scoring 41 runs on 47 hits and driving in 55 runs, third best on the team... Hit 15 home runs, two of them grand slams, second-best on the team behind All-American Lovie Jung... Recorded a fielding percentage of .964 with 44 putouts with 115 assists... Established an new Arizona record, and tied the NCAA mark for most RBIs in a game with 11 versus Washington on May 10... Earned Pac-10 Player of the Week honors after breaking the single-game RBI record.

 

2002: As a true freshman, had a hit in her first College World Series at-bat and an 11th inning, three-run homer against Florida State to earn WCWS All-Tournament honors... Earned All-Pac-10 honorable mention... Hit 14 home runs and finished with 49 RBIs... Tied for team lead with three grand slams... Had six multiple-hit games and was second on the club with 14 multiple-RBI games... Led the team with five homers and 18 RBI in Pac-10 play... Appeared only once as a catcher.

 

High School: North Canyon High School, Phoenix, Ariz., 2001... Four-year first-team All-Region honoree... All-state honorable mention... Three-year first-team All-State... Earned the state Gatorade Award as the top player... Received eight letters, including one in volleyball and seven in basketball.

 

Personal: Academic major is psychology, minor is criminal justice... Career ambition is to become a firefighter or police officer... Daughter of Kathy and Larry Coburn... Mother is a registered nurse, and father is an engineer... Likes to read, watch sports and spend time with friends.
