TUCSON - After three weeks on the road head coach Vicky Maes and the Wildcat women's tennis team are back in Tucson to take on two strong opponents. Both matches will be held at LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
On Friday the Cats (6-2) will take on No. 43 Utah (4-3) at 10 a.m. Last season the Utes upset the Cats, 5-2 in Salt Lake City. The Utes are coming off a 5-2 win over Boise State on Saturday February 12 while the Cats are looking for an upset.
Arizona will take on No. 48 Rice University (6-2) on Saturday. Last weekend the Owls defeated two worthy Texas schools. On Sunday February 13 the Owls beat Texas State, 7-0 as well as Texas- Pan American, 6-0. Both matches were held at Jake Hess Tennis Stadium in Huston, Texas.
Saturday's match against Rice University has been rescheduled to begin at 11 a.m. due to a forecast for rain.
Saturday is also Kids on Campus day for the University of Arizona.
Last weekend the Cats took on two San Diego opponents with split results. After losing the doubles point against San Diego State University the Wildcats came back to win the match, 5-2. Against The University of San Diego the Cats also lost the crucial doubles point but this time were unable to come back in singles. Arizona lost the match, 4-3.
