UA's Maja Mlakar Falls In The Second Round Of The NCAA Women's Singles Championship

GAINSEVILLE, Fla. - The No. 29-ranked sophomore Maja Mlakar lost in the second round of the NCAA Women's Singles Championship, Tuesday, May 20, to the No. 1 ranked player, Vilmarie Castellvi of Tennessee. The loss marks the end of the season for Mlakar who finished 27-16 overall.

Mlakar came out strong winning the first set 4-6 over her top-seeded opponent, Vilmarie Castellvi. Castellvi then over-powered Mlakar, winning the next two sets, 6-3, 6-0.

The Arizona Wildcats finished the season 10-12 overall and earned the 16-seed in the NCAA tournament.
