Arizona Soccer Picked to Finish Fifth in Pac-10

TUCSON, Ariz. ?- The Arizona soccer team has been picked to finish fifth in the Pacific-10 Conference in a preseason vote of the league’s 10 head coaches. The Wildcats will return 11 letterwinners from last year’s squad, including four starters.

 

Defending Pac-10 champion UCLA was picked to repeat as conference champion, receiving seven first-place votes and 78 points in the poll. California was second with 69 points, followed by Stanford with 63 pointes. Southern California was fourth (62), Arizona was fifth (49), followed by a tie between Oregon State (34) and Washington State (34). Rounding out the poll were Arizona State (23), Washington (21) and Oregon (17).

 

The team is ranked No. 17 in the NSCAA/adidas preseason poll that was released today.
