TUCSON--Jennie Finch scattered four hits and won her 52nd consecutive decision to help lead Arizona to a 5-1 victory over Hawai'i and give the Cats two wins on the first day of UA's Hillenbrand Invitational softball tournament.

Finch struck out nine and improved to 12-0.

Lovie Jung singled to lead off the first, stole second and scored on a one-out single by Jennie Finch. Finch moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single down the left-field line by Jenny Gladding to give Arizona (20-2) an early 2-0 lead.

Hawai'i (9-7) came right back with a run on an RBI single by Trisha Ramos in the top of the second, but then she and Denise Dalhberg from third were caught stealing in a double play by UA catcher Mackenzie Vandergeest and shortstop Lovie Jung in a 2-6-2 play to end the rally.

Lovie Jung looped a single to right and Carrie Hagen bunted for a base hit to open the UA fifth. Finch grounded into a double play, but Leneah Manuma singled to right to drive in Jung. Designated player Gladding then lined an opposite-field home run to left for a 5-1 lead.
