The No. 2 Arizona softball team shut out the Oregon State Beavers, 8-0, as freshman pitcher Alicia Hollowell threw her third no-hitter of the season.
Sophomore Jackie Coburn hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning to put the Cats up 3-0. Oregon State's pitcher loaded the bases in the bottom of the fourth, and an error by the Beaver shortstop allowed junior Mackenzie Vandergeest to score. The Wildcats scored the final four runs of the game in the fifth inning. Senior Lisha Ribellia hit a two-out double to left field, scoring Vandergeest from first base to end the game.
Hollowell improves to 19-2 after pitching five innings, walking three and striking out eight.
Arizona will take on the Oregon Ducks Saturday at 7 p.m. at Hillenbrand Stadium.
